Shannen Roy, a motivated and energetic recruiter at WelcomeHome with a background in Business Management, Finance, and an MBA, is passionate about running and coaching lacrosse, values the supportive and hardworking team environment, enjoys meeting diverse candidates with a customer-centric mindset, and cherishes team moments like dinners at Bones.
Meet Shannen Roy! Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, Shannen studied Business Management and Finance at Lock Haven University, where she played Division II lacrosse, then went on to earn her MBA from Mercer University. She stays connected to lacrosse by coaching the Northview High School women’s lacrosse team and with 3D Lacrosse Club. Shannen has a lifelong love of running, completing six half marathons, three full marathons, and the Boston Marathon last April. Shannen started her journey at WelcomeHome as an intern and has been with the team full time for just under two years.

What is your favorite part about being on the Ops team?
Mathew Oberle—just kidding! My favorite thing about being on the ops team is honestly the people. Everyone's fun but also super hardworking, and even though we all do different things, it really feels like a team. Everyone plays a part in keeping WelcomeHome running, and it's cool to be part of that.
Could you tell us what your favorite part of the recruiting process is?
My favorite part of the recruiting process is getting to meet so many people and getting to hear a little about their backgrounds and stories.
What's a green flag you look for when screening candidates?
Someone with a customer centric mindset and passion for helping people.
